1)Lurk before posting - There is a topic set up for most things. Look at each forum making sure there isn't a forum or thread already set up for what you wanna talk about. I.E.; If you want to talk about music, scroll down to the bottom of the forum index and you will find the music forum. Don't ask about music in the general discussion/off topic forum or the movie forum.

1.b) Search - Use the search feature. we've talked about a lot of things over the past few years, so you are bound to find someone has already answered your question. If that thread is old, from instance 6 months old, then you can start a new one, to find out what people think/feel now.

2)Meaningless posts - Don't post one word replies like, "hmmz" or "lol" or "". Our mods will delete them. 2.b) WARNINGS - this post goes for everything discussed here; If you make any silly/stupid/spam post you will be warned by a mod. After 3 warnings you will be banned for a period between 2 and 7 days for the first offence (depending on how severe the incident was.

3)Don't spam the forum just to up your post count. This pretty much goes without saying. However alot of you tend to do it by making one word posts (see rule 2). This is annoying.

4) Don't piss off the moderators - This should go without saying. We control the board and a few of us control pretty much everything. So if you find your post count has gone back to zero or you have a different AV you will no why. If a mod asks you to do something, do it.

5) Avatars - No nudity, no swearing, nothing over the size of 200x100 pixels etc etc.

6)Sigs See avatars. Also can't be to big.

7) DON'T POST IN RANDOM CAPS. WHETHER IT BE A TOPIC OR A REPLY - We have told you countless times not to do this, So don't do it. Don't argue with us and say "it's just decoration" because it isn't and it is extremely hard to read. If you do post in random caps your post will be deleted.

8 ) USE CORRECT SPELLING AND GRAMMAR - This is another thing we have told you countless times to do. We have now implemented a spell checker into the forums so use it. If you are not sure how to spell a word either use the spell checker or www.dictionary.com

9) Font colours - Use the standard font colour to post. Nothing else. Different font colours just make your post impossible to read.

10)Images - If you want to post an image either upload it using the forums attachment feature or an image hosting service like image shack or from your own server space. We provide 500kb of space for each member. When this is full, you'll need to start clearing out some old images and files. If an image or attachment becomes a needed item on the forum, then a mod or admin will move it to their unlimited account to hold it for you, giving you space, whilst leaving the image/attachment on the forum. Anyone who posts an image leeched from another website will have that post deleted. (this is due to other websites getting annoyed). Don't post any images like porn, rotten.com type pictures etc etc. If you have to post one of those images, only post the link to it and say NWS (Not work safe).

11) IP BANNING - don't let your friend insult, swear, racially, OR threaten another user of our site, ON YOUR COMPUTER. we do regular checks of banned members, stupid guest posts, and members on our watch list, to see what they are up to, and on who's computer. If for instance, you are member, 'xyz', and allow your friend to log you out, and post a msg as a guest, threatening another user, the ip WILL be banned for a certain interval of time. This means we will prosecute all members of the party involved in the crime. SIMPLE safeguard, tell your friend to go home and do it.

Although the administrators and moderators of Upcoming will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages. All messages express the views of the author, and the owners of Upcoming will not be held responsible for the content of any message.
