Discuss MO
what does everyone think of the site?
anything people want to see?
we've been doing a fair bit of work in the background, trying to set everything up.
Here's a little background info:
we've been running the underage version of this site - one of our first sites - for the last 5 years.
We were going to open this site about 3 years ago, but couldn't find a good enough system to work on to do what we wanted to do.
We didn't have the funds at the time to build what we wanted, so the only thing we could do was wait.
We finally found a system that we could work with - and from this we built to specification the sections and ideas we had written down over the years.
This system allows us to effective manage multiple sites, push data to certain sites, watch every possible section of our site, and get up to date information about exactly what's happening.
Our team has access to enough information to make their objections easier - that is, making the site fun, helpful, and friendly.
More sections will come start to pop up within the next few weeks.
We will be pushing very hard to gain market aginst the clubbing sites already running (some of the best were started in the same week of october as we started, back in 2001).
The only difference between us and them is they currently have more members than us, but we have more ideas and features.
So come in, sign up, and help us create a snow balling sign up effect on the site.

Discuss the site?
Um, hopefully im not the only one but it's just the MU site when you visit www.melbourneoverage.com
Anyway, personally I'd like to see a NEW site that differs from MU. Different colours, different forum boards, and people should only be able to access the forums if they are OVER 18. There is no point having 16 or 17 year olds on there just because they are mature. They have nothing to do with the overage scene and shouldnt have access to it.

it's no MU when you go to MO. People can only see certain things.
The colours will be changed very soon.
Plus, you can't stop people from joining if they are under 18 years old. you can simply say you 80 years old on the birthdate section.
What forum boards do you want?
i've added some, but haven't got around to putting more up yet, until more people start posting.

The clubs that should have a forum, in my opinion, are:
Billboard
Bliss Lounge
Two Floors Up
Publicity
Chasers
Platform One
Room 680
Cheers (Caseys Nightclub)
The Tunnel
Metro
Bond Bar
Next (that Frankston club)
and any other major ones I've missed

I've been looking forward to this. I'd really like a good general site, hopefully one that even includes some of the rock clubs too.
Rob have you decided how you're going to work all the clubbing forums/event listings yet? This is my main concern, and something that could set the site apart from the rest.

it's being developed at the moment.
Go add an event on the MO Clubbing Calendar, and you'll see some different options there.
We will be making that a little bit more funky, and user friendly.
From this, we'll be giving the end user the ability to search for what they want.

Commenting on the colour scheme...
While I love the purple, the blue for the links makes them a little hard to read sometimes.

If you wanted to be a little fussy some of the images need tweeking:
online/offline
Green rep images
Add rep button
and the 'quote' button needs an update :P
Also maybe 'cleen up' the emoticons section to have 1 solid theme that works well with the dark background.
Thats if you want to get fussy...

what do people think about the changes since we last spoke?
we're continuously changing little things around the site, and adding new features.
We've done a lot to the add events, www.upcoming.com.au/event/add
and we've got another week or two of programming before we'll be ready to start taking band gigs and rock events - we just need a keyword system so break up events for better searching.
colours are still changing - and the front page should go through a work over in a coming weeks.

As if the colours are still changing!
I'm really liking the background and white/yellow boxes on MO.
As for changes i can only really think of the smaller things...
I think as Adam mentioned a while ago, you need to do something about the emoticons. There are heaps of crappy/uneeded ones, and a general theme would be good.
And maybe change the rankings? All those sikent ones about raving and crap are out of date and slightly butt-pluggish.
But yeah that's if you wanted to get particular. Mmmmm yes that's all i can think of for now, otherwise it's funkaliciously sexy

This is for when deleting your msg, when you click edit, the Delete the msg tick box is the same colour as the background box, can't really see, rather insignificant but thought I'd point it out
edit: okay its not anymore my bad
